Khmer rouge: prisons, memorials, and burial sites

This spatial dataset shows the locations of 158 prisons run by the Khmer Rouge (Democratic Kampuchea, or ‘DK’) during April 1975-January 1979, 309 DK mass-grave sites (including 258 estimated to each contain six or more bodies; 125 sites, 1,000 or more; 27 sites, 10,000 bodies or more; and 7 sites, 30-70,000 each); in an estimated total of 19,000 grave pits and 76 sites of post-1979 memorials to victims of the Khmer Rouge.

Process Step Map and Data team from Open Development Cambodia downloaded the data from Cambodian Genocide Program’s Geographic Database (CGEO) from Yale University’s Genocide Studies Program as ArcGIS Geodatabase. Then the team exported to various extention such as KML, SHP, GeoJSON and Spreadsheet and visualize on ODC interactive map.
