Name Webpage capture on the news article about striking labourers head back to work
Description

The article discusses a situation in Svay Rieng province where more than 200 factory workers went on strike at Master Blacksmith Metal Products Co., Ltd. The workers had several demands, including improvements to facilities, assurances that they would not be terminated without valid reasons for wrongdoing, simplification of procedures to apply for leave, reinstatement of wrongfully dismissed workers, that overtime be made voluntary, that employees laid off prior to the expiry of their contracts be paid their remaining earnings, and that 5% of the so-called 13th-month pay and any other applicable bonuses should be paid on the 10th day of each month. The outcome was that the negotiations lasted all day on January 25, ending with the employer agreeing to the requests and promising to implement them. Both parties agreed that the three-day period during which workers had been on strike would be deducted from their accrued annual leave.
