Asia-Pacific Regional Seminar on Sub-Regional Cooperation for Achieving SDG4-Education 2030
The uniqueness of the SDG4-Education 2030 lies in its flexibility and adaptability at regional, sub-regional and country levels. While this is a welcome move to ensure greater national ownership and relevance, the challenge lies in coordinating the national efforts to ensure maximum synergy and consistency at all levels (sub-regional, regional and global levels). The sub-regional intergovernmental bodies and cooperation platforms therefore are in a unique position to bridge these regional and global commitments to national actions. This seminar aims at capacitating senior officials of the sub-regional organizations to gain more knowledge and understanding of the roles of the sub-regional organizations in bridging regional and sub-regional commitments on SDG4-Education 2030. This activity is part of UNESCO-Malaysia Funds-in-Trust Project on “Strengthening National Capacity for Sector Wide Planning to Achieve SDG4 in Asia-Pacific through South-South Cooperation”.
