The result of the voter registration audit II in Cambodia
The report aims to provide independent election observation, verify the accuracy of the 2007 voter list and evaluate the quality of the voter registration process, in complement and comparison with the previous survey over the voter list 2006, The Voter Registration Audit (VRA) I. The total of 400 communes was randomly selected with a participation of 4,742 respondents. Out of the total respondents interviewed, the study found that the non-registration rate slightly increased up to 12.1%, from 11.2% in 2006; however, the non-registered rate among Cambodians aged at 18 and 19 years old dramatically plummeted to 8.04%, from 23.4% in the previous year, showing their growing interests in the elections. In terms of the voters list's accuracy, date of birth became the most concerned issue in preventing the people from going to vote, followed by name and address.
