This decision approves the One commune one product (OCOP) program for the period of 2018 - 2020 with the following principal contents:

The OCOP program looks to develop the rural economy by promoting internal development and added value. It is considered as one of the measures and tasks of the National Target Program on New rural development. The focus of the OCOP program is promoting advantageous agricultural, non-agricultural, and service products in each locality based on value chain, which will be realized by private economic sectors (businesses, production households) and the collective economy.
- The government plays a role in initiating and promulgating a legal and policy framework to implement; planning on goods and service production areas; managing and monitoring product quality standards; and providing supports on training, technical guidance, application of science and technology, brand building, trade promotion, product promotion, and credit.
