On December 3, 2020, CATU filed a complaint with the local Department of Labor about Tripos’ behavior, but it continued. Some workers resigned amid the threats. The outcome was CATU released a statement condemning the company’s persecution and discrimination of union leaders, members and activists. They called on the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and brands sourcing from the factory, such as Clarks, to intervene and ensure that union leaders, members and activists could fully exercise their rights and freedoms to form and join a union.
