Executive Summary This study is the first attempt to provide background information on the bamboo sector in Laos in general, and in Houaphan and Xiengkhouang Province in particular. Furthermore we try to analyse the socio-demographic profile of the host communities in the study area as well as analyze different income sector including bamboo sector of farm household in the study area.
