Cassava development and forest protection in Vietnam, 2015

The Report on the Development of Cassava and Forest Protection in Viet Nam: National Policy, International Market and Citizens' Livelihoods discuss the interactions among these three components. First is the mechanisms and policies related to the production, processing and consumption of cassava products and the system of implementing these mechanisms and policies. Second is the market for cassava products and the motivation for market expansion, especially export markets. Third is the livelihood of people, especially the poor households in mountainous areas who are directly involved in production. The relationship among these three components is set in the context of strong commitments by the Government of Viet Nam to protect natural forests.
