Statistics on Growth, Energy and Bilateral Trade in the Greater Mekong Subregion

The “Statistics on Growth, Energy and Bilateral Trade in the Greater Mekong Subregion” (third edition) was used as a meeting or reference document during the 9th Economic Corridors Forum held back-to-back with the 22nd GMS Ministerial Conference in September 2017. This is the third edition of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) statistical booklet produced by the GMS Secretariat of the Regional Cooperation and Operations Coordination Division, Southeast Asia Department, Asian Development Bank (ADB). This newest edition improves on the previous ones, with the inclusion of two new important chapters: the Energy Sector, and GMS Bilateral Trade. The GMS energy sector includes basic energy indicators; data on supply, production, and consumption of energy and power; energy and power trade; and a set of country tables with disaggregated data by type of fuel. The chapter on bilateral trade includes data within GMS, and between GMS and the world. In this edition, estimation of some existing indicators have also been improved through the use of provincial rather than national data, where possible. Moreover, new data have been added, most important of which are time series estimates of constant gross domestic product and supply-side infrastructure indicators.
