Challenges for independent media in Cambodia 2021

Cambodia continued to score low on international rankings of press freedom, and outlets that report critically on the government and others in positions of power faced increased threats or intimidation compared to recent years. Based on the existing reports, among the many challenges facing Cambodian journalists, the fear of legal harassment and physical assault were the most serious challenges for journalists in 2021.
