More than 300 women candidates in the 2020 General Election_The Irrawaddy

This article describes that the next election will see a total of 6,969 candidates from various political parties, with 1,112 women candidates (16%), an increase of more than 300 from 2015. According to the Union Election Commission, out of 6,039 candidates running in the 2015 general election, about 800 (13%) were women and 150 won.
