Viet Nam's Voluntary National Review on the implementation of the sustainable development goals

As a responsible member country of the United Nations, Viet Nam has been actively participating in the implementation of the global sustainable development agendas. In the context of Viet Nam, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were nationalized in the National Action Plan to implement the 2030 Agenda for SDGs (SDG NAP) in May 2017. As part of this process, the country has prepared a Voluntary National Review (VNR) for presentation at the United Nations High-level Political Forum 2018 on Sustainable Development (HLPF 2018). This VNR aims to evaluate the achievements of the 2030 Agenda and 17 SDGs, analyze policy gaps and potential challenges arising during achievement of the SDGs in Viet Nam and presents recommendations to accelerate future achievement of the SDGs. This review was prepared on the basis of intensive and extensive consultations as well as constructive participation from numerous stakeholders, including the National Assembly, ministries and related agencies, socio-political organizations such as the Women’s Union and Youth Union, socio-professional organizations, UN agencies in Viet Nam, development partners, local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), representatives of the business community, research institutes and scientists.
