(In)Harmonious voices towards development: The future of SEZ Mukdahan

The National Council for Peace and Order has announced Mukdahan province as a special border economic development zone by exercising Section 44 of the Constitution to acquire public lands, in which they are shared by local villagers or being degraded forest to be developed as “industrial estate zone” for more than 1,080 Rais (426.87 Acre). Many local people are in a state of anxiety about losing the land for their livelihoods.
