The article assesses the timber trade from Laos to Vietnam as inputs for furniture production and the impacts on forest management in Laos in terms of scale. It releases findings about the impact on the Laos labor market, the economic importance of timber resources to the Laos and Vietnamese governments, local and international governance mechanisms, land management policies, and local agency in managing forestry resources.
