Webpage capture on the news article of​ the workers at the company formed a CCAWDU branch. Three days later, the human resource department told the 11 officials that the company could not renew their employment contracts due to a lack of orders and poor performance by the workers. The company told the union officials to resign from CCAWDU or face repercussions. Six signed the letter and quit CCAWDU under duress. CCAWDU wrote to Greenfield Industry to remind the company that dismissing workers for setting up a union is a direct violation of Cambodian labor law. The company ignored the letter.
