This report summarises findings from a field study to investigate trade in natural resources in a Laos demonstration site in Attapeu Province. The report provides an overview of natural resource trade, including fish, wildlife and non-timber forest products. The study highlights the varied economic, ecological and social factors that influence trade dynamics in the site. Participatory methods were used to collect information from four villages, 20 camps, and local urban markets, to identify the types of natural resources being traded, trade routes and trends. Information on government regulations and management practices was also collected. The results demonstrate the critical importance of trade in natural resources for rural livelihoods.
