The experience and capacity to conduct strategic environmental assessments (SEAs) have improved considerably in recent years in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries. Governments in the GMS increasingly recognize the benefits of assessing the environmental implications of their policies, plans, and programs. This information note outlines recent SEA developments in five countries.
